Pirates break the ice: Our 2017 Welcome Back Event
UBC EPIC took to the high seas and it was a swashbucklin' good time! Members who attended the event got to take part in a variety of pirate-themed activities including sealing an ancient treasure map in a bottle, creating a hand parrot, and even designing their very own pirate costume (which once completed, were pitted against each other in a contest to see who was most deserving of the title sea captain).
There was no hard tack and biscuits for this crew as we feasted on a pirate's favourite meal: pizza and pop. We even managed to incorporate a random passerby in the NEST to judge our pirate costumes (she was particularly fond of the "pirated DVDs" slung across one sea-dog's waist).
It may be that dead men tell no tales, but we'll sure be talking about this one for a long time to come.
